Shopify handles the commerce plumbing so your team can focus on the storefront and the buying experience. Our Shopify developers build custom themes, private apps, and headless storefronts for D2C brands in India, the US and the UK.

A great deal of Shopify work sold as development is theme configuration — installing a purchased theme and adjusting settings. That is a legitimate service, but it is not engineering, and it hits a ceiling quickly.
We screen for Liquid fluency, understanding of Shopify's data model, and experience with the app extension points. The revealing question is how someone would add functionality that the theme settings do not expose — a candidate who reaches immediately for a paid app for every requirement is configuring, not building.
App bloat is the practical consequence. Stores that solve every problem with another app end up with a slow storefront, a large monthly app bill, and conflicting scripts nobody can untangle. Knowing when to build rather than install is the core judgement.
Shopify hosts the platform, so the backend is fast. Storefront performance is almost entirely determined by what the theme and installed apps do to the page — third-party scripts, unoptimised images, render-blocking resources.
We treat Core Web Vitals as a conversion issue rather than an SEO checkbox, because on mobile commerce the two are the same thing. Auditing app script impact, deferring what can be deferred, and removing apps that are not earning their weight typically produces a larger improvement than any theme change.
For stores where the storefront experience is the differentiator and performance requirements are strict, a headless build is worth evaluating — though it is a real step up in complexity and not the right answer for every brand.
Checkout was historically closed to customisation outside Plus. Shopify Functions and checkout extensibility have changed what is possible, and much of the advice online still reflects the older constraints.
Custom discount logic, shipping rules, payment customisation, and B2B pricing are all addressable now. Whether they justify Plus depends on your volume and how much of the logic genuinely cannot be expressed within the standard platform.
We would rather tell you that your requirement fits on standard Shopify than sell an upgrade you do not need. Plus pays for itself at real scale and is expensive overhead below it.
